Before FIT FM 96.7 came into fruition, it was just a dream. For decades Umoja Ben-Nyah rocked the airwaves of several radio stations before deciding to start his own. After years of planning and test transmissions, on March 6, 2019, FIT FM established itself as Trelawny's Only Radio Station and began its launch. For three solid days, Umoja Ben-Nyah saw his dream come alive, before transitioning on March 9, 2019.

The station is now being run by his widow Julia, and children Rajiv and Jahnuary.
